With the help of implementing a few design and decor principles you too can redecorate your home like how a professional interior designer would. These design principles have been around for a while now and gaining an understanding of how these are implemented and its impact to interior design will ensure that your well-equipped and are aware of how these concepts work. Some of the most common design principles are;
the principle of unity is all about getting all the elements in the space to work together in complement each other. This includes an appropriate selection of themes, colours, furniture, layout, lighting, etc. Following this principle is the right balance of all the elements of the room. This principle does have an exception such as having a focal point which is assigned to grab the eye’s attention. The concept of balance is essentially about maintaining symmetry as well as a symmetry in the decor of the room. The principle of rhythm touches upon how objects in the room complement each other. Scale and proportion are predominantly focused on objects such as the placement of the furniture and how these scale when placed in a design space. The fine attention to detail is what separates a room being able to accentuate its style and ambience. Fine attention to detail would mean zeroing in on little aspects of the theme of choice.
